Good to know for curling beginner

For beginners – have fun learning the sport of curling
Before you head for the ice armed with stone and broom, we recommend taking a couple of curling lessons with an experienced curling pro. Our trial course offers pick up plenty of tips and tricks, so you can have fun learning the sport of curling.

Please note: Curling instruction is a legal requirement for beginners for Health and Safety Reasons. Therefore knowledge is required for Groups who wish to play without booking a qualified instructor, or have a Curling experienced person in the Group who is able to take the responsibility. Minimum Age to play is 13 Years. For 9-13 Years old Kids we have special Curling stones. Please let us know in advance. (Regular stones and Special Kids Curling stones can not be mixed)

Clothing: The temperature is ca. 5°C in the Waldhaus Arena. Warm and comfortable clothing such as sweat suits, baggy pants and warm pullovers are ideal. 

Shoes: Only clean curling shoes are allowed on the ice. Rental curling shoes are available in the arena.

Equipment: The Waldhaus Arena has stones and brooms available. Only Waldhaus Arena stones may be used. Personal brooms may be used.

Helmets: For your safety, Waldhaus Arena has helmets available free of charge. Wearing a helmet is optional.

Meeting place: Please check in at arena reception 15 minutes before curling time.

Instructions: Please follow the instructions of the Waldhaus Arena team and the curling pros.
